LTC Janice Oh is the Senior Assistant Director of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department at the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

Janice first joined the SCDF as a full-fledged paramedic. As a paramedic, one of the highlights of her job include facilitating the delivery of nine babies, most of them boys. She has also come into close contact with life and death situations that require her to provide medical intervention and emotional support to loved ones. After serving as a paramedic for five years, Janice enrolled in the nine-month ROTA Commander Course to qualify as a Fire and Rescue Senior Officer. She became the first paramedic from the SCDF to cross over into firefighting and has had extensive experience in leading a team of firefighters at various incidents.

Currently, in her role as the Senior Assistant Director of the EMS Department, she oversees SCDF’s ambulance fleet and daily operations, as well as the implementation of policies such as the Emergency Medical Services Response Framework nationwide.

Janice is also a mom, and her daughter is very proud of the work that she does in the Life-Saving Force.
