Carolyn Kan is a silversmith and the founder of artisan jewelry label Carrie K. Carolyn quit her high-flying job as the managing director of top advertising agency M&C Saatchi. She took a year off when she was 36 years old as she wanted to discover something other than advertising.

During her year off, she engaged in different activities like hosting dinners for Lolla’s Secret suppers (a club she co-founded with her friends), worked in a business importing boutique champagne and she also travelled to Britain and Italy. Whilst on her travels, Carolyn took Italian lessons in Italy and was introduced to a silversmith – she decided to be her apprentice for a month. After Carolyn made her first silver ring, it inspired her to pursue her career as a silversmith and designer and started Carrie K. She launched Carrie K the following year. In 2016, Carrie K had a deal with Disney for a year-long collaboration to design a series of jewelry
