When she was just 17, Yap Qianyin had a leukemia relapse, and her post treatment caused a spinal cord inflammation which left her with a disability in her legs. With her tenacity and courage, Qianyin overcame all odds and now represents Singapore as a parasailor. Sailing gives Qianyin a sense of freedom and motivates her to work towards her dreams, and she has since bagged multiple achievements for the nation including Singapore’s first gold medal at the Asian Para Games in South Korea.
