
Ng Li Zhen is a violinist with The Purple Symphony, Singapore’s first all-inclusive orchestra for individuals with and without special needs. She first picked up the violin in school as part of her CCA (Co-Curricular Activity) and from there, started developing a deep passion for classical music. At the age of 14, Li Zhen was diagnosed with lupus, and was forced to take a break from playing the violin due to concerns about her health. Eager to reignite her passion for music, Li Zhen joined the Purple Symphony under the encouragement of her friend, where she is now actively pursuing her dream of becoming a violinist. Her story is a reminder to us all that it is never too late to start doing the things we love and that music transcends all boundaries.
