Lena Ng is the founder of Flour Power, a social enterprise bakery that trains people with special needs to bake.
Lena Ng used to work in the corporate marketing sector and took a sabbatical in 2011. After returning from Thailand and Cambodia, where she spent volunteering and teaching English to the children in the villages, Lena spent 2 years trying to identify gaps in the social fabric in Singapore. After realising the lack of sustainable employment opportunities for kids with special needs after they turn 18, Lena founded Flour Power in hopes of equipping them with baking skills that will help them find sustainable jobs in the future. Through Flour Power, she also hopes to spread greater inclusivity and awareness about children with special needs.
