Janelle Kam is a professional cellist and the founder of da ka:po Late Starters Orchestra in Singapore. In 2000, she made the bold decision of quitting her job to pursue her passion in music by picking up the cello and becoming a professional musician. As someone who loves music dearly, Janelle believes strongly that there should be no barriers to making music, and seeks to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for adult beginners without musical background to learn how to play music. This spurred her to start da ka:po Late Starters Orchestra, with the motto in mind that it is never too late for anyone to start learning music. Through the orchestra, she hopes to provide everyone with the opportunity to enjoy music as it is.
